Full Professor of Italian and Comparative Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Florence. A lawyer enrolled in the Special Register of University Professors, she is a member of the Scientific Board of several journals in the field of Comparative Public Law and a member of the Board of the Italian Association of Comparative Public Law, of which she was Vice-President for two terms. She was a member of the Board of the Italian Association of Constitutionalists.
She was appointed by the Minister of the Environment as a member of the National Technical Commission for Environmental Impact Assessment (VIA-VAS) and was a member of the Commission of Experts appointed by the Government in June 2013 for the reform of the Constitution. She has coordinated research units within the European Horizon 2020 and PRIN projects of national interest.
In July 2020 she was elected by the Chamber of Deputies as a member of the College of the Italian Data Protection Authority, where she holds the position of Vice-President. Since 19 June 2023 she has been a member of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for the definition of essential services (LEP) in the field of civil and social rights.
She was a columnist for Il Dubbio, Il Giornale and Corriere Fiorentino. She has collaborated with Corriere della Sera and Il Messaggero.
