“Spring Conference 2024”, a premier event dedicated to tackling privacy and data protection challenges, will make its debut in Latvia this year. Set to take place from May 14-16, 2024, in Riga, this landmark gathering promises to continue its tradition of fostering cooperation and dialogue among European systems and professionals.
Since its inception in 1991, the “Spring Conference” has been at the forefront of addressing emergent trends in privacy and data protection, informing European developments, and promoting best practices in policy and legislation implementation. This year's conference will build upon this legacy, with a focus on key topics such as navigating evolving EU regulations, addressing privacy in emerging technology, safeguarding health data in the digital era, and promoting effective cooperation among data protection authorities, officers, and businesses.
"We are thrilled to bring the “Spring Conference” to Latvia for the first time," said Director of Latvian Data State Inspectorate Jekaterina Macuka. "Riga's vibrant atmosphere and commitment to innovation make it the perfect setting for this important event."
The “Spring Conference” has a rich history, with its inaugural meeting in The Hague, Netherlands, in 1991. Since then, it has grown into a cornerstone event in the field of data protection, with last year's conference held in the beautiful Hungarian capital of Budapest.
